Ulu Cooking Class

The Monkeypod Provisions Kitchen is partnering with the Poipu Food and Wine Festival to share our passion for Hawaii’s ulu. The tree, with its glossy, broad leaves is a beautiful addition to any local yard and it is astonishing to witness the abundance a single tree can produce. This class will celebrate the beloved ulu by creating four vegetarian, ulu-centered dishes…
– Creamy Ulu Soup
– Ulu Ratatouille
– Ulu Gnocchi with Butter Sage Sauce
– Ulu Flan
As a partner of the Poipu Food and Wine Festival, 20% of the class earnings will be awarded to the Culinary Arts Program at Kauai Community College.
We desire that guests depart with new friends, a further understanding of Hawaii’s agriculture, and the confidence to make the same dishes in their own homes.
