E Kanikapila Kākou 2024: Week 4 – “Timeless Hapa-Haole Classics” Nick Masagatani, Douglas Tolentino & Ekolu Chang

Monday, February 26th, 2024 at 6:00 pm8:30 pm

E Kanikapila Kākou 2024 invites you to a season of exploring and understanding the relationship between the songs and dances of Hawai’i and the life and times of its people as reflected in the Significant Songs of Hawai’i.

Nick Masagatani, Doug Tolentino and Ekolu Chang will present an evening of “Timeless Hapa-Haole Classics” which have emerged as reflections of the western influence on Hawaiian songs and dances. Songs are often delightful, sassy (kolohe), sometime “tongue-in-cheek” and often insightful views of life in Hawaii.

‘Ukulele circle starts at 5:15 pm; the main program begins at 6:00 pm and ends at 8:30 pm. General admission $20 // Kama’aina $10 // Keiki 12 years and under are free. Tickets are available online at http://ekk2024.eventbrite.com and will also be available at the door.

No-host bar and food concession will be provided by Kaua’i Beach Resort.

EKK is brought to you by the Garden Island Arts Council with support from the Kauai Visitors Bureau, the County of Kauai Office of Economic Development, the EKK Patrons, the Hawai’i State Foundation on Culture & the Arts, the Outrigger Kaua’i Beach Resort & Spa and the Hawai’i Tourism Authority.
