Sushi Class
Sunday, July 7th, 2024 at 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm
One Weekend Only! In this 2-hour, hands-on class, we will create lesser-known sushi variants including Temari, Oshi-Zushi, and Temaki-Zushi using seasonal ingredients and the highest quality raw fish. Students will learn the art and vast history of sushi, and advice for buying and preparing raw fish safely at home. You will arrive as sushi students, and leave as Sushi Masters. Class runs approximately 2 hours and replaces lunch or dinner.
Chef Yuji Haraguchi owner of OKONOMI / YUJI Ramen, Osakana Brooklyn, and Osakana East Village in NYC. Hailing from Japan, Haraguchi created the Japanese-style fish market and education center Osakana to educate people about Japanese food and culture. Haraguchi is a big proponent of the Mottainai philosophy, a Japanese concept of being mindful of waste. Haraguchi also creates dynamic culinary videos for Bon Appetit and Epicurious.
