KUʻU HOME ʻo PĀʻULAʻULA: ReVisioning the Past & Re-Connecting Lāhui

Dr. Peter Mills, Director of Heritage Studies MA Program at UH-Hilo returns to Pāʻulaʻula to share little-known research and intimate stories of King Kaumualiʻi’s life and community from his new book: Connecting the Kingdom; Sailing Vessels in the Early Hawaiʻian Monarchy, 1790-1840. Dr. Mills is a well-known westside Friend, having done an archeological survey in the 90s and another this past June with several visits in between. Come hear westside stories of ancestors amidst new technologies balanced with reverence for cultural mores as only Kauaʻi, (the separate kingdom), could.
