Dr. Peter Mills, Director of Heritage Studies MA Program at UH-Hilo returns to Pāʻulaʻula to share little-known research and intimate stories of King Kaumualiʻi’s life and community from his new book: Connecting the Kingdom; Sailing Vessels in the Early Hawaiʻian Monarchy, 1790-1840. Dr. Mills is a well-known westside Friend, having done an archeological survey in the 90s and another this past June with several visits in between.
