Fall Legume Cooking Class
Thursday, September 19th, 2024 at 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm
This class features heirloom beans and seeds from Rancho Gordo in California’s Napa Valley. We will discuss the heritage of each bean and seed used in class and options on how to prepare each in several ways. We will create four dishes celebrating the featured ingredients including Black Garbonzo Bean Hummus served with Crudite, Vegetarian Non-refried Pinto Bean Toastadas, Wild Rice Pilaf with Xoconostle and Pine Nuts, and Royal Corona Beans with Lamb Sausage, Shrimp, and Greens. For dessert, we will enjoy a Vegan Chocolate Mouse.
Each guest will learn how to make all four dishes and leave with the recipes and the confidence to recreate each at home.
Age Requirement: 13 years or older (Youth ages 13-17 must be accompanied by a registered adult)
Location: The Provisions Kitchen in Lawai.
