DRAWING ANCESTORS & HEROES

Using his stories and examples of hisown ancestors, Brook Kapūkuniahi Parkerwill offer technique, motivation and his own self-taught path to art to guide Middle & High school students to draw what they know and feel.
Brook uses his own moʻokūʻauhau and paintings of ancestors to illustrate and enliven his stories and teaching. Beside his voluminous collections of original paintings of aliʻi and warriors,  (see  Hawaiian@Art.org); Brook has illustrated dozens of books for Kamehameha Press.  This Drawing Heroes Workshop is the first of itʻs kind on Kauaʻi and celebrates our own Heroes. While on island hewill also plan with Friends of King Kaumualiʻi an original graphic illustration for a Storyboard of Kaumualiʻi’s Kauhale at Pā’ulaʻula.
