Even fewer bands leave a legacy during that time that marks them as a truly special\, once in lifetime type band. And no band has done all that and had as much fun as Leftover Salmon. \nSince their earliest days as a forward thinking\, progressive bluegrass band who had the guts to add drums to the mix and who was unafraid to stir in any number of highly combustible styles into their ever evolving sound\, to their role as a pioneer of the modern jamband scene\, to their current status as elder statesmen of the scene who cast a huge influential shadow over every festival they play\, Leftover Salmon has been a crucial link in keeping alive the traditional music of the past while at the same time pushing that sound forward with their own weirdly\, unique style. \nSalmon is a band who over their thirty year career has never stood still; they are constantly changing\, evolving\, and inspiring. If someone wanted to understand what Americana music is they could do no better than to go to a Leftover Salmon show\, where they effortlessly glide from a bluegrass number born on the front porch\, to the down and dirty Cajun swamps with a stop on Bourbon Street in New Orleans\, to the hallowed halls of the Ryman in Nashville\, before firing one up in the mountains of Colorado. \nGuest Artists\nFriday Night Features Lindsay Lou \nSaturday Night Features Sierra Hull \nSunday Matinee Features Tavana \n\n\n\nWhat’s included\n\nThis is GA standing room show. SUMMARY:Grammy-Nominated Anat Cohen Quartetinho
DESCRIPTION:“Anat does what all authentic musicians do: She tells stories from her own\nexperiences that are so deeply felt that they are very likely to connect listeners\nto their own dreams\, desires and longings.”\n– Nat Hentoff \nEver charismatic\, prolific and inspired\, Grammy-nominated clarinetist-saxophonist Anat\nCohen has won hearts and minds the world over with her expressive virtuosity and\ndelightful stage presence. The New York Times writes\, “Ms. Cohen on the clarinet was a\nrevelation. Using the clarinet’s upper register\, she could evoke infectious joy. In the lower\nregister\, her playing could conjure a deep\, soulful melancholy. On up-tempo numbers\, her\nimprovisations weren’t just bebop fast; they had a clarity and deep intelligence that is really\nquite rare. She made it look effortless\, even as she was playing the most technically\ndifficult of all the reed instruments… she took my breath away.” \nFor more information\, visit https://www.anatcohen.com/.

SUMMARY:BIG EASY QUEENS
DESCRIPTION:Set in the steamy\, spooky underworld of New Orleans\, Big Easy Queens is 80 minutes of pure queer horror with original musical numbers\, voodoo\, zombies\, drag queens\, and campy neo-giallo delight soaked in blood\, gristle\, and glitter\, oh my. In this righteous “glam horror” extravaganza\, Big Easy Queens follows Minnie Bouvèé\, Mob Queen of the Quarter\, and her rivalry with her arch-nemesis\, Poodles Makenzie. After Minnie Bouvèé has Poodles Makenzie’s crew brutally slaughtered\, she braces for the blowback; what she doesn’t expect\, however\, is to be stalked by a creepy masked figure who leaves behind bouquets of gardenias and terrifying notes. Is this Poodles’ revenge\, or the work of Minnie’s estranged sister who stole her man years ago and has suddenly reappeared in her life?\n\nThis campy film sponsored by the KCC Prism Club.  Feel free to dress appropriate to the film…be creative!

SUMMARY:A COMPLETE UNKNOWN
DESCRIPTION:A Complete Unknown\,” the biographical film about Bob Dylan\, is nothing short of extraordinary. Beautifully crafted and executed\, it transports you back in time\, immersing you in the life\, music\, and story of one of the most influential artists of our time. The performances are simply exceptional. Timothée Chalamet\, as Dylan\, delivers a magnetic portrayal\, capturing both the vulnerability and genius of the man. Not only him\, but the entire cast-including Edward Norton and other pivotal characters-brings depth and nuance to their roles. Each actor seems perfectly chosen\, breathing life into Dylan’s world and relationships. The music is the soul of this film\, and it is masterfully performed. The songs are not just performed-they are interpreted with a heartfelt\, raw beauty that resonates deeply. The renditions are authentic and emotionally stirring\, blending seamlessly with the narrative. From “Blowin’ in the Wind” to “Like a Rolling Stone\,” the music is a character of its own\, weaving through the story with purpose and impact. The film’s structure is equally impressive\, exploring not just Dylan’s music but also the historical and cultural shifts of his era. It’s as much a story of societal change as it is of Dylan’s artistic journey\, showing how the two were intertwined. The attention to detail in recreating the time period-through costumes\, settings\, and the mood of each scene-is remarkable. Even though the runtime exceeds two hours\, the film never feels slow or drawn out. The pacing is perfect\, keeping you engaged from start to finish. Every scene adds layers to the story\, and every performance and song feels essential. \nPresented FREE for everyone compliments of AARP Hawaii.
