Ki-ho’alu, which literally means “loosen the key,” is the Hawaiian language name for the solo finger picked style. This year marks the 24th anniversary of Festival of Lights, Kauai’s largest holiday festival renowned for its focus on recycled and reclaimed materials. This year’s Festival of Lights will highlight the exterior lighting of the Historic County Building park. Festival of Lights launches Thanksgiving night and continues through New Year’s Day. Henry Kapono will perform a free online concert in honor of veterans and military families on Saturday, Nov. 28 at 5 p.m. The concert can be seen via a Zoom link and simulcast on the AARP Hawai‘i Facebook page.
