On Sunday, May 21, 2023, join us at the Philippine Cultural Center as the Kaua’i Chorale celebrates 60 years on Kaua’i with an afternoon of chorale works.
About the Chorale:
For 60 years, the Kaua’i Chorale has been presenting diverse choral music concerts on the Garden Island with repertoire ranging from classical works to jazz, pop, and Broadway show tunes. The Chorale has performed in Honolulu as well as New York City and is often joined by other local musical groups for concerts. The Kaua’i Chorale is a nonprofit organization funded in part by the State Foundation on Culture and the Arts, as well as membership dues, ticket sales, and donations.
The Artistic Director:
The chorale’s Artistic Director is S. Morris Wise, who assumed the role in 2018, following Lois Ricciardi’s 30-year tenure. Originally from the East Coast, Morris has lived on Kaua’i since 2009. He has many musical degrees and credentials including undergraduate and graduate degrees in vocal performance and choral directing.
